ABOUT

MAD PRIDE SWITZERLAND, TOGETHER FOR THE MENTAL HEALTH 7.10.2023

CORAASP, together with the Swiss Psychological Health Network and Pro Mente Sana Switzerland, have joined forces to form the association Mad Pride Switzerland, which aims to organise a regular Mad Pride in Switzerland in order to destigmatise mental illness and remind people that mental health concerns us all. Several national and cantonal partners participate in this event, which is offered in the three national languages (French, German and Italian).

Mad Pride Switzerland is a national march of the population in the name of mental health, followed by concerts, shows and socio-cultural activities. This year, it will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 1 pm to about 7 pm.

This event aims to talk together about mental health and is committed to:

  • Reducing taboos and prejudices about mental illnesses and the people who suffer from them
  • Promote mental health among the population by reminding us that we are all concerned by mental health

DETAILS

With a first edition in Geneva in 2019, a second in 2022 in Bern with more than 4000 people, the third edition will take place in Lausanne.

In order to reach as many people as possible, Mad Pride will be organised in several ways:

  • A digital campaign: testimonials, key figures and information, resources, initiatives, projects in the service of mental health
  • An outdoor exhibition on mental health (information and resources): one month, in a public square in the city of Lausanne, or in other cities that wish to do so (printing of F4 panels with testimonies/podcasts accessible via QR codes)
  • An exhibition of works created mainly by people affected by psychological difficulties (public square in Lausanne)
  • A festive national march through the streets of Lausanne on 7 October 2023, starting at 1pm from the square in front of Lausanne Cathedral to the Place de l’Europe and the Place Centrale
  • Concerts, shows, information stands and events related to mental health which will take place after the march on these two squares in order to allow the population to discover in a different way mental health, people with mental health problems and the existing resources.

This event is free of charge and is aimed at the whole population, whether or not they are concerned by mental illness and therefore at young people, parents, adults, seniors, professionals from differents backgrounds but also public and political authorities.
